Biophysical Indicators
▪ Minimal rains were experienced in the county during the reporting month.
▪ The forage conditions remain good occasioned by the effect of the MAM season rains.
▪ The ground and surface water levels remain above normal (60-70%).
▪ The temperatures ranged between minimum of 13 oC and maximum of 29 oC across both livelihood zones.
Socio-Economic Indicators (Impact Indicators)
Production Indicators
▪ Harvesting of cow peas, beans and maize was ongoing.
▪ Livestock body condition remains good to moderate due to good to fair forage conditions.
▪ Milk production increased slightly due to availability of forage and stable distances
Access Indicators
▪ The Terms of trade remain favourable in the reporting month due to stability in goat and maize prices.
▪ The trekking distances for both households and livestock to water sources remain stable the month. Utilization Indicators
▪ Milk consumption increased and households food consumption was generally acceptable however some households entirely depended on markets for all food needs.
▪ The coping strategy index decreased to 6.41 attributable to increased livelihood activities and the start of harvesting
