Situation Overview

Over the last 24 hours, heavy rainfall was experienced in various parts of the country including Wajir, Meru, Isiolo, Marsabit, Samburu, Nyeri and Marsabit sub-counties. Average rainfall was received in Nakuru, Narok and Kakamega Counties. Light showers were received in some parts North Eastern.
Updates per county

Meru County

Heavy rainfall was experienced in the entire Meru County resulting in flash floods in various parts of the county. In Meru town, blocked drainage systems led to flash floods on major roads disrupting transport along these roads. In Kaelo, 14 households were displaced after their houses were sub-merged. The county government and KRCS carried out distribution of NFIs to these families. Several roads were also rendered impassable with the main access road from Kibirichia to Ntirimiti cut off.

Isiolo County

Following the heavy downpour, flash floods affected about 15 shops in Galamala resulting in heavy losses by the business people due to damaged stocks.
