Dam outburst in central Kenya renders 4,000 homeless

Nairobi, Kenya (PANA) - Two days after a dam burst its banks in Kenya's central province, residents are still counting their losses amid tears and distress with hundreds of families displaced.
The raging floods that left at least ten people dead, uprooted huge trees, water pipes, road barriers and left telephone lines dead.

Nearly 4,000 people were left homeless by the floods that swept away domestic animals, houses as well as crops.

And the victims are appealing to the government for assistance to resettle.

Meanwhile, the Kenya Red Cross society has donated foodstuff, medication, blankets and clothing to the victims.
