Summary:
This literature review synthesizes current scientific and grey literature on the interlinkages between climate change, food security, and nutrition in Kenya’s Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASALs). It explores how rising temperatures, erratic rainfall, and extreme weather events are impacting agricultural productivity, livestock health, and dietary diversity. The review highlights the unique vulnerability of pastoralist and agro-pastoralist communities and provides an analysis of Kenya’s policy landscape and stakeholder ecosystem. It concludes with strategic recommendations to strengthen climate resilience and ensure food and nutrition security across Kenya’s most climate-vulnerable regions.
