Floods continue due to snowmelt, affecting central and eastern Kazakhstan in the past few days, triggering emergency declarations in Akmola, Karagandy, Pavlodar and East Kazakhstan regions.
As of 15 April, local media report that the situation in the central and eastern regions of the country is under control, while authorities and emergency services are taking all necessary measures throughout the region. The Department of Emergency, according to media, reports that 1 760 houses have been flooded in 35 villages and livestock affected.
On 16 April, rainfall may still affect central and eastern Kazakhstan.
