New Italian initiatives to help the refugees

The Italian Ambassador to Jordan, Patrizio Fondi, has visited the Syrian refugee camp in Zaatari to deliver medical supplies for the Italian-Jordanian field hospital. The supplies will be used to treat respiratory illnesses, diabetes, high blood pressure, reproductive health and children’s conditions, as requested by the hospital’s director.

Supplies of equipment and prefabricated modules

Ambassador Fondi commented that during his contacts with the Royal Medical Services he had “confirmed the Italian Government’s intention to go on supporting the Jordanian Government in addressing Syria’s humanitarian crisis, as is right for two friendly nations”. Italy’s support will continue with the delivery of additional equipment and 2-3 prefabricated modules to house a pharmacy and waiting room. The possibility of providing the “first aid” service on a 24-hour-a-day basis was also discussed.
