AMMAN, Feb 28 (KUNA) Kuwait-based AlRahma International dispatched two convoys of relief supplies to Syrian refugees in Jordan between February 24th and 28th.
Badr BouRahma, who headed one of the two convoys, told KUNA on Sunday that dispatch of the humanitarian supplies coincided with Kuwait national days. He added that USD 70,000 worth of donations were given to 550 very poor Syrian families, widows, Koran memorizers, handicapped and cancer patients.
The relief supplies were distributed at the refugee camps, located in the north, center and south of the Kingdom of Jordan. Kuwaiti volunteers from the associations, "Basmat Amal" and "Tujjar AlKhair" took part in the effort.
The aid included cash, food parcels, toys, in addition to holding a food exhibition, a ceremony for honoring tailors, distribution of motorcycles, holding soccer tournaments, organizing leisure trips and activities for children.
He added that AlRahma had also built makeshift poultry farms, workshops for training on repairs of electrical, computer and cell phones' devices.
The other convoy included food and medical parcels to refugees in the border region, AlHadlat AlRuwaished, located 450 kms from the Jordanian capital. (end) mjb.rk
