UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, supported two events aimed at facilitating market access for refugees with home-based businesses: a bazaar at the UNESCO World Heritage Site Umm el-Jimal and the Pomegranates Festival in Irbid.
UNHCR’s first baseline Health Access Utilization Survey for Zaatari and Azraq refugee camps shows refugees are well aware about available health services, but report high expenditures for medicines, etc.
By October, refugee women and men have repaired 1,000 shelters in Azraq camp based on a project giving them the do-it-yourself opportunity. UNHCR and partners provided them with material and training to fix their shelter independently.
