On 30 May, several parts of Jordan experienced heavy rainfall and hailstorms that caused flash floods and resulted in casualties and damage.
According to media reports, one person died in Aqaba City in southern Jordan, while another is still missing in Zarqa City in northern Jordan, both due to flash flood events. In addition, hailstorms were reported across the capital Amman, the nearby cities of Salt and Madaba, and the northern governorate of Irbid which resulted in widespread damage to properties.
For the next 24 hours, drier conditions are expected across the country.
