Jordan – Flash Floods (Media) (ECHO Daily Flash of 10 November 2018)

On 9 November, heavy rains and subsequent flash floods have killed at least ten people in several cities in Jordan. The floods also forced the evacuation of nearly 4 000 tourists from the ancient city of Petra. While rescue operations are ongoing, a state of emergency was declared in the port city of Aqaba. Two weeks ago, 21 people died after they were drowned in flash floods in the Dead Sea region.
