Jordan – Flash Floods (DG ECHO, Media) (ECHO Daily Flash of 27 October 2018)

According to the national Civil Defence authorities, the death toll from flash floods, which started on Thursday, 25 October, near Jordan’s shore of the Dead Sea, has risen to 21. At least 35 people have been injured and still a few are missing. One bridge on the Dead Sea cliffs has collapsed. Search and rescue operations continued and the Jordanian Prime Minister visited the scene to oversee the operations on Friday, 26 October. The Jordanian King has announced a three-day mourning period.
