Japan - Tropical storm PULASAN, update ( IMD, media, media) (ECHO Daily Flash of 27 September 2024)

  • Following the passage of tropical storm PULASAN over central-western Japan on 21-22 September, floods, river overflows and landslides have been recorded mostly across the Ishikawa prefecture, Honshu island, central Japan, resulting in casualties and damage.
  • According to media, at least 11 people have died, of whom nine in Wajima and two others in Suzu City.
  • For the next 48 hours, moderate to locally heavy rainfall is expected across central and eastern Honshu island.
