Japan: Donation from Austria

  1. In response to the Great East Japan Earthquake, the government of the Republic of Austria informed that it will provide relief money of 1 million euro (about 115 million yen) through the Austrian Red Cross Society.

  2. From Austria, letters of sympathy were sent from H.E. Dr. Heinz Fischer, Federal President, H.E. Mr. Werner Faymann, Federal Chancellor, H.E. Dr. Michael Spindelegger, Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs and others.

  3. Federal Minister Spindelegger (on Tuesday, March 22) wrote a message in a condolence book at the Embassy of Japan in Austria. The Government of Japan deeply appreciates a sense of solidarity expressed and assistance extended by the Government of Austria and its people.
