On Wednesday, May 11 Mr. Chiaki Takahashi, State Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call by H.E. Mr. Waleed SIAM, Ambassador, Representative, Permanent General Mission of Palestine (Dean) and H.E. Mr. Khalid Hashil Al-Muslahi, Ambassador of Sultanate of Oman, representing the Arab Diplomatic Corps.

Mr. Takahashi expressed his deep appreciation for the donation of 2 million yen from the Diplomatic Corps, various support, messages of sympathy and encouragement from Arab countries. He personally delivered the letter of appreciation from Mr. Takeaki Matsumoto, Minister of Foreign Affairs to the Arab Diplomatic Corps. He also confirmed the determination of the Japanese government to overcome this difficult situation.

In response, Ambassador Siam and Ambassador Al-Muslahi offered their condolences for the victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake. They mentioned that the support from Arab countries demonstrated their appreciation for the past support from Japan to Arab countries and friendship between Japan and Arab countries.
