In response to the Great East Japan Earthquake, the fourth dispatch of relief supplies, comprising 70,000 pairs of socks, offered from the Government of the HKSAR arrived on the morning of Wednesday, April 27, 2011 (*) and were delivered to Iwate Prefecture.

This assistance forms a part of the total assistance of 5 million HK dollars which the Government of the HKSAR has expressed. This assistance follows the first dispatch (approximately 20,000 cans of food) on Saturday, April 9, the second dispatch (approximately 10,000 cans of food) on Tuesday, April 19 and the third dispatch (30,000 pairs of socks) on Wednesday, April 20.

The Government of Japan deeply appreciates the cooperation of the Government of the HKSAR. *The flight (CX006) loaded with the relief supplies arrived at Narita Airport around 6 a.m. on Wednesday, April 27.
