Copernicus satellite imagery and geodata (EMSR487, 01–26 November 2025) from the Copernicus EMS rapid mapping service were used to assess residential building damage caused by Hurricane Melissa across Western Jamaica, where the hurricane’s impact was most severe, spanning 76 communities across 18 areas within the western parishes of Hanover, Manchester, St. Ann, St. Elizabeth, St. James, Trelawny, and Westmoreland.
