In November, 4,361 refugees and migrants arrived in Italy by sea. Most originated from Bangladesh (30%), Egypt (15%), and Somalia (12%). 24 per cent were children. Other people reached Italy via land and air.
In November, refugee students selected under the seventh edition of the UNICORE – University Corridors for Refugees programme arrived in Italy to enrol in two-year Master’s degree programmes at 33 Italian universities.
On 17 November, the Municipality of Brescia and UNHCR inaugurated the city’s Spazio Comune, a multiservice integration hub building on Brescia’s commitment under the Charter for the Integration of Refugees.
