A new humanitarian relief operation with a total value of Dh860,000 (around US$240,000) has been launched by the UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) in Gaza strip in collaboration with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), RCA announced.
The emergency operation will distribute around 6000 packages of food aid to impoverished food-insecure families and individuals is part of the UAE's efforts to improve the dreadful humanitarian conditions of the most vulnerable categories who are reeling under the deteriorating security situation amid clashes between Palestinian factions and those whose homes have been demolished by the Israeli occupation, said Acting Secretary General of RCA Saleh Mohammed Al Mulla.
Palestine relief operations is a top priority for RCA and the current operation is part of development and relief programmes RCA is running in the occupied Palestinian Territories (oPT), he added. (Emirates News Agency, WAM)
