GAZA, Jun 16, 2005 (Xinhua via COMTEX) -- A senior Palestinian official said on Thursday that Israel will present the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) the plan of its withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and northern West Bank in July.
Mohamed Dahlan, minister of civil affairs, told reporters that current political and diplomatic activities are aiming at making the withdrawal a success.
He stressed the importance of Egyptian intelligence chief Omar Suleiman's talks with Israeli and Palestinian officials, saying that the PNA hopes to receive the plan in July, including maps, timetables and places to be evacuated.
"In case we do not receive clear answers from the Israeli side, coordination between the two sides on the implementation of the pullout will be meaningless," he said.
Israel is scheduled to evacuate troops and settlers from all the 21 settlements in the Gaza Strip and four out of 120 in the West Bank in mid-August.
Israel and the Palestinians have stepped up coordination efforts over the coming pullout.
