GAZA, Aug 2, 2005 (Xinhua via COMTEX) -- The Israeli side would present before Palestinian senior security officials its plans of withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and West Bank on Wednesday, a Palestinian Interior Ministry statement said on Tuesday.
The decision was made during a meeting held on Monday evening between Palestinian and Israeli security officials near the Erez crossing in northern Gaza, said the statement.
The Palestinian delegation was headed by Gen. Jamal Abu Zayed and the Israeli delegation was headed by Gen. Aviv Kokhavi.
The Palestinian security officials had presented before their Israeli counterparts their preparations for the scheduled Israeli withdrawal and evacuation of settlements, according to the statement.
"The Palestinian side showed the Israelis the locations where the Palestinian security and police forces would redeploy around the settlements during the evacuation and the withdrawal," it revealed.
Israel is due to withdraw from all 21 Jewish settlements in Gaza and four in the West Bank beginning in mid-August.
