The United Nations stresses that the children of Iraq need to be respected and their lives spared from the current conflict

Amman, July 14, 2005 - The United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) jointly express their outrage at the recent horrific events in Iraq which have led to so many child deaths. Amidst all the other terrible tragedies Iraq has been facing, the loss of innocent children's lives is appalling and unacceptable.

The children of Iraq are the future of Iraq and need to be respected and spared from the consequences of this current conflict.
