UNDP provides support to community reconciliation and social cohesion

Baghdad, 26 February 2016 - The Council of Representatives, with support from UNDP and UNAMI Human Rights Office, is convening a workshop focused on strengthening community reconciliation and social cohesion on 27 February 2016.

This special workshop brings together elected members of parliament and civil society organizations. Papers prepared by experts will be shared and discussed during the roundtable. Mechanisms for supporting inclusive, transparent dialogue and consultation will be discussed and special attention will be given to the Parliament's role in promoting national reconciliation.

“This workshop is organized as part of UNDP’s strategic partnership with the Council of Representatives and within the cooperative framework. UNDP stands ready to provide support to all entities in Iraq in their efforts to promote community reconciliation and social cohesion,”Dr. Adam Abdelmoula, UNDP Country Director said.
