Introduction
Oxfam is operating in Iraq since 2014 implementing a multi sectoral programmes including Livelihood and food security, Water Hygiene and Sanitation, Protection, Advocacy and Gender. Oxfam is an international nongovernmental organization (NGO) operating in Iraq since 2014 implementing multi-sectoral programmes including livelihoods and food security, water access, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), protection, gender and advocacy. Oxfam with support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is implementing: “Sustainable Livelihoods and Economic Recovery in Diyala”. Oxfam conducted Rapid Market Assessment in Diyala with focus on Khanaqin district (Jalawla and Sadiya sub-districts) and Muqdadiya district where the project is implementing.
This project aims to engage and empower local citizens to participate in recovery and rehabilitation of their communities, provide livelihood opportunities, improving their access to public services and support safer, more secure, and more dignified living conditions. The beneficiary is a recipient of the support and should have previous experiences using similar assets as part of their livelihood. Whereas the beneficiary has expresses knowledge and experiences in using, managing and maintenances of the indicated asset, Oxfam will monitor the use of the assets in meeting household income needs.

Outcome: Longer term livelihood opportunities for internally displaced persons (IDPs), returnees and host communities, with a focus on youth and women are created in selected areas of Khanaqin and Al Muqdadiya districts
