SITUATION OVERVIEW
According to OCHA 1.2 million people have been displaced by fighting since Armed Opposition Groups took Anbar in January (approximately 560,000 people from Anbar, with a further 650,000 people leaving their homes when Mosul was taken on 9 June).
This comes on top of a population of more than 225,000 Syrian refugees already displaced in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI) and adds to an already stretched humanitarian response.
