NRC - Weekly Activity Update 8 March 2016

In Shaweis, Darato and Kasnazan urban areas in Erbil, NRC last week distributed conditional cash for shelter upgrades to 252 refugee and internally displaced persons (IDP) households. NRC also distributed non-food items and sealing off kits to 174 IDP households.

NRC continues to support formal schools in camps for refugees and IDPs in Iraq and last week 58 catch up classes in Arabic, mathematics, chemistry and physics were given to 464 students in Harshm camp for IDPs in Erbil.

In addition, NRC provided recreational activities including music, art, drama and sports to 376 children and youth in Harshm camp for IDPs. Psychosocial support sessions were given to 2984 children and youth in Khabat.

Through the Information, counselling and legal assistance programme, NRC broadcasted information on IDPs rights on Radio Al-Salam. In addition, two group information sessions on Housing, land and property were conducted in the urban non-camp setting of Kasnazan for 58 participants.
