IRBIL, Feb 6 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Monday distributed 1,500 heaters to Iraqis displaced from Mosul and living in camps in the northern city of Irbil.
The distribution of heaters is part of a State humanitarian campaign to help the displaced Iraqis in the north, Dr. Omar Al-Kanderi, Kuwait's Consular General in Irbil, said in a statement to KUNA.
This humanitarian aid, he added, was part of the campaign to alleviate suffering of displaced and refugees wherever they were.
Al-Kanderi said the Kuwaiti Consulate has a comprehensive humanitarian program, especially in education and medicine.
The State of Kuwait launched a campaign few days ago to distribute heaters to Iraqis living in camps in Irbil, Kirkuk and Sulaimaniya. Up to 10,200 heaters and 6,000 blankets were distributed so far. (end)
