Iraqi Red Crescent Society (IRCS) announced that it has installed camps to house more than 9,700 displaced people in Salah al-Din and Samarra.
The Assistant Secretary General for IRCS Mohammed Al-Khuzai has said that IRCS’s teams registered displacement of more than 9,700 people to Samarra city and Salah al-Din. Al-Khuzai adding that the displacement movement has gone into two directions, in which approximately (5780) people has displaced to the city of Samarra, as well as displacement of approximately 4,000 people to Al-Ojah. He also adds “IRCS’s teams in Samarra has installed more than 500 tents to shelter the displaced families and to distribute food and relief assistance to them, meanwhile IRCS is continue in distributing food and hot meals daily to the families in Samarra. But in Al-Ojah, IRCS has received more than 4,000 people.
It is worthy to be mentioned that IRCS’s teams has distributed more than 12,000 bottled water and more than 4,000 relief items included blankets, kitchen kit and health kit adding to other necessary materials to cover the basic needs of displaced families in the city of Samarra and Salahuddin.
