The Iraqi Red Crescent distributes relief and food assistance to more than 1,900 displaced families in cooperation with the local government in Samarra and Salahuddin

The Iraqi Red Crescent Society (IRCS) has announced the distribution of food and relief assistance to more than 1,900 displaced families from different regions of Anbar and Salahaddin in cooperation with the local government there.

The Assistant Secretary General of IRCS, Mohammad al-Khuzai said “ IRCS’s teams has received in the past three days more than 1,900 displaced families from different regions of Anbar to the city of Samarra and some of its neighboring areas due to security incidents in Anbar. And that the Crescent’s teams who deployed in Samarra and some of its neighboring areas have installed more than 600 tents equipped logistically with food and relief items to house the families, as well as distributed hot meals to number of families”.

Alkhozai also added that IRCS’s teams distributed more than 12,000 bottled water, and more than 4,000 relief items which included blankets, kitchen kit health kit and other necessary materials so that to cover the basic needs of displaced families.
