Highlights
Some 40,000 persons are confirmed displaced in Anbar Governorate, but the total figure could be much higher as insecurity continues unabated and people continue to flee.
Nearly 40 per cent of the 1.8 million IDPs in Iraq have found shelter in various forms of spontaneous communal settlements, such as schools, abandoned or unfinished buildings.
The winter weather is arriving and exposing that winterization programs for IDPs and vulnerable people are significantly underfunded.
Of the 500,000 IDPs targeted for education assistance, 400,000 have not yet been reached.
