Highlights

• Some 40,000 persons are confirmed displaced in Anbar Governorate, but the total figure could be much higher as insecurity continues unabated and people continue to flee.

• Nearly 40 per cent of the 1.8 million IDPs in Iraq have found shelter in various forms of spontaneous communal settlements, such as schools, abandoned or unfinished buildings.

• The winter weather is arriving and exposing that winterization programs for IDPs and vulnerable people are significantly underfunded.

• Of the 500,000 IDPs targeted for education assistance, 400,000 have not yet been reached.
