Shiite militia forces are reported to have also entered Fallujah and Iraqi Security Forces (ISF) indicated that militiamen, operating with the Federal Police, burned and looted homes in Fallujah. ECHO supported partners have been at the forefront of the humanitarian emergency response to the close to 100 000 individuals, displaced since the beginning of the military operations in Fallujah. Since 24 June, over 4 000 individuals have been displaced as result of military operations in Jazerat Al Khalidiyah, Anbar governorate. Many fled to Ramadi, as a first point of transit, but new arrivals are currently directed to Al Khalidiyah camps. Only very limited critical lifesaving humanitarian assistance is hardly reaching these new displacement locations.

The situation remains fluid and thousands of people may still be on the move in the area. Families are displaced from areas outside Shirqat city and are being transported by authorities to Al-Hajjaj town, located between Bayji and Tikrit. Families are accommodated in a small displacement site established by the Government of Iraq, in schools and public buildings. On 30 June, the Ministry of Displacement and Migration (MoDM) informed that close to 2 000 individuals have newly arrived to the Al-Hajjaj displacement site and are in need of water, food and non-food items. In northern Iraq, over 15 000 individuals displaced in Makhmur District have found shelter in Debaga Camp, Erbil Governorate. Additionally, about 6 500 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) are, reportedly, stranded in al-Hol camp in Syria, unable to enter the Kurdistan Region of Iraq without a sponsor and clearance issued by Kurdish Security Forces. These IDPs had fled Mosul, following the intensification of airstrikes on the city and the military operations in al-Qayyarah sub-district, in May 2016. Out of these, at least two elderly men and one woman died because of lack of medication.
