* BAGHDAD - Gunmen using weapons equipped with silencers killed Abdul Jabar Mukhtar, an empolyee at the Foreign Affairs Ministry in Baghdad's northwestern district of Kadhimiya, an Interior Ministry source said.
* BAGHDAD - Armed men shot dead Jamal Satar, an employee at the Foreign Affairs Ministry, in al-Nisour Square in central Baghdad, using silenced guns, an Interior Ministry source said.
MOSUL - A mortar round killed one civilian and wounded another when it landed on their home in southwestern Mosul, 390 km (240 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.
