April 29 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq as of 1200 GMT on Friday.

  • MOSUL - Gunmen shot dead a merchant near a federal police checkpoint in western Mosul, 390 km (240 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.

BUHRIZ - Gunmen wearing Iraqi army uniforms stormed a house, killing three brothers and wounding another, in Buhriz, about 60 km (35 miles) northeast of Baghdad, police said.

One of the attackers was killed when one of the brothers returned fire, police said.

BAGHDAD - Gunmen using silenced weapons shot dead an Iraqi army colonel near his house in western Baghdad's Ghazaliya district on Thursday, an Interior Ministry source said.
