KUWAIT, Jan 14 (KUNA) - A convoy of trucks left to Iraq on Wednesday carrying on board medical aid donated by Bangladesh to be delivered to the people of Iraq under the supervision of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS).
In an interview with Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), KRCS's Director of the Relief Committee Yousef Al-Meraj said the convoy, made up of 14 trucks, is carrying approximately 230 tons of urgent medical aid to be presented to the health centers in various Iraqi provinces.
He expressed his pleasure that the Red Crescent is able to assist in this humanitarian role, confirming that it is ready to continue with any such relief work for the people of Iraq in the future.
Al-Meraj confirmed Kuwait's dedication to this cause, adding that this delivery of medical supplies from Bangladesh is urgently needed in Iraq.
Director of KRCS Barjas Al-Barjas has exerted much effort in coordinating with the Iraqi Red Crescent Society and the Iraqi Ministry of Health, Al-Meraj affirmed, to receive this delivery.
A representative from the Bangladesh Embassy in Kuwait will accompany the convoy to the Kuwaiti-Iraqi borders where the delivery will be made to a representative from the Iraqi Red Crescent Society and the Iraqi Ministry of Health, he concluded. (end)
