Tehran, Dec 12, IRNA - The number of the people injured in the 6.2-magnitude earthquake in the southeastern province of Kerman has climbed to 29, a health official announced.
Head of Kerman province's medical emergency center Mohammad Saberi said that most of those injured sustained their injuries when people were rushing to leave their houses.
He said that most of the injured were discharged after treatment, but 12 have remained hospitalized.
The 6.2-magnitude earthquake jolted the village of Hajdak near the town of Ravar located in southeastern province of Kerman on Tuesday.
According to the Seismological Center of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the tremor occurred at 12:15 hours local time (8:45 GMT) in an area located at 30.75 degrees latitude and 57.31 degrees longitude and at the depth of 10 kilometers.
Another 6.1-magnitude quake also rocked the area on December 1. The mentioned earthquake had over 300 aftershocks.
