IRCS Responds to Over 1,000 Flood-Affected People in 8 Provinces

TEHRAN, Nov.7 (IRCS) _ Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS)'s volunteers responded to 1,117 people affected by flood and inundation in the provinces of West Azerbaijan, Ilam, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, Bushehr, Khuzestan, Mazandaran, Fars, and Gilan, during the past 24 hours.

Moreover, 83 people were provided with emergency shelter during the same period. Water was also pumped out of 18 homes by IRCS relief workers.

" 18 tents, 500 blankets, 150 ground sheets, 845 kg nylon plastics, and 700 canned foods were distributed among the affected people," said Morteza Salimi, head of IRCS’s Relief and Rescue Organization.

IRCS deployed 83 operational teams, consisting of 230 relief workers and rescuers to render relief services to the victims.
