Iraq's fifth aid convoy arrives in Iran
Abadan, April 14, IRNA – Iraq's fifth aid convoy for the flood-effected regions arrived in Iran's border regions, south of the country.
Humanitarian aid of Iraqi people for the flood-affected Iranians arrived in the southern province of Khuzestan from the Shalamcheh border on Sunday.
Iraq's Popular Mobilization Force (or Hashd al-Sha'abi in Arabic language) has played a major role in organizing the aid.
The Iraqi people will never forget Iran's support during their fight against Daesh (ISIS) and will side with the flood-effected people till the situation is normalized, Head of the Iraq's Popular Mobilization Forces Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis said in a ceremony held on the sidelines of dispatch of the humanitarian aid to Iran.
The Iraq's aid convoy included 26 trucks of engineering equipment, six ambulances as well as 20 trucks of medical and food supplies.
Khuzestan was hit by floods due to heavy rains over the past few days. Flooding has made thousands of people homeless.
