TEHRAN, 6 November 2023 (IRCS) – The Iranian Red Crescent offered relief services to 515 people affected by the recent flood and inundation in ten provinces of the Country.
The flood primarily impacted Mazandaran province in the north, and the Red Crescent teams provided aid to 76 households in various counties including Chalus, Amol, Abbasabad, Savadkouh, and North Savadkouh.
The flood damaged the water supply networks in the parts of Mazandaran. In Abbasabad, six bridges were damaged by the flood.
The inundation and flood has affected provinces of Isfahan, South Khorasan, Semnan, Kermanshah, Kohgiluyeh and Boyerahmad, Guilan, Mazandaran, Hamedan, Yazd, Sistan and Baluchestan. Red Crescent mobilized 54 teams in the flood-affected regions.
The flood that occurred in Behabad County, Yazd, had a significant impact on numerous livestock farms and avicultures, resulting in severe damage and losses.
Aid workers evacuated 55 people to safe places and provided sheltering to 34 people. Furthermore, they pumped out water of 70 residential units.
So far, the Iranian Red Crescent has offered relief services to 515 people.
The Red Crescent has delivered tents, blankets, ground sheets, and food supplies to the households affected by the flood.
Efforts are currently in progress to provide assistance in Mazandaran, Guilan, and Yazd provinces.
