Iran Quake Kerman Province

The situation Report

A magnitude 6.1 earthquake hit the Hijdak area located in Kerman province on Friday, 1st December 2017 at 06:02 a.m local time. So far, 53 aftershocks have been registered. The biggest of which, is 5.5 on the Richter scale, according to the Iranian seismological center

Based on the report, 14 villages have been damaged in Hijdak district in the city of Rawor. No death tool has been reported yet and 42 persons have been injured.

Iranian Red Crescent

Following the occurrence of the quake, Relief and Rescue Organisation of the Iranian Red Crescent Society in the first phase of its response operation deployed 9 operational assessment teams, 45 operational relief forces and its sniffer dog teams. 5 neighbouring provincial branches of the IRCS received alert to be standing by for sending relief teams and items for any possible rescue and relief operation.

The assessments of 12 villages have been conducted till now. Village of Kouhak with 122 families (about 622 people) have been damaged between 30 to 70 percent.
