Floods on 19 September in Gilan province caused 2 death and damage to farmland, infrastructure and houses, mainly in the west.
The floods have affected crop land, which is expected to impact the livelihood of farmers (28% of total workers in the province). Gilan province is one of the main providers of agricultural products in Iran such as rice, covering 33% of the total rice production.
Roads, electricity, water and gas transfer infrastructure in 100 villages were damaged.
240 houses are also reported as damaged. More than 600 households (HHs) have no access to safe water in Talesh city and about 100 HHs are disconnected from the gas network.
Iranian authorities and the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) are responding with the provision of non-food item (NFI) kits and food rations.
