The epicentre was located approximately 37 km south-east of Masjed Soleyman city in the Central District of Masjed Soleyman county, Khuzestan province.
- USGS PAGER reported that at least 8,000 people were exposed to strong shaking and 264,000 to moderate shaking.
- According to media reports, as of 5 December, there are no immediate reports of any casualty or damage.
