An earthquake of 5.6 M at a depth of 10 km occurred in the Central district of Shiraz county in Fars province, south-western Iran, on 5 December at 4:02 UTC (7:32 local time). The epicentre was located approximately 37 km south-east of Masjed Soleyman city in the Central District of Masjed Soleyman county, Khuzestan province.
USGS PAGER reported that at least 8,000 people were exposed to strong shaking and 264,000 to moderate shaking.
According to media reports, as of 5 December, there are no immediate reports of any casualty or damage.
