Iran - Dust storm (media, NOAA-CPC) (ECHO Daily Flash of 3 June 2025)

  • Strong winds affected Sistan and Baluchestan province in eastern Iran on 1 June, causing a severe dust storm bringing strong winds, increased dust levels, reduced visibility, and a decline in air quality across the region.
  • According to media reports, as of 2 June, at least 1,544 people have been injured, and several roads have been closed in the most affected cities Zabol, Zahak, Hamoon, Hirmand, and Nimroz.
  • Over the next 24 hours, drier conditions are forecast over the affected areas.
