Strong winds affected Sistan and Baluchestan province in eastern Iran on 1 June, causing a severe dust storm bringing strong winds, increased dust levels, reduced visibility, and a decline in air quality across the region.
According to media reports, as of 2 June, at least 1,544 people have been injured, and several roads have been closed in the most affected cities Zabol, Zahak, Hamoon, Hirmand, and Nimroz.
Over the next 24 hours, drier conditions are forecast over the affected areas.
