Two dead in C Java landslide

Two people were killed after they were buried under at least a meter of soil during a landslide in Wlahar village in Purbalingga, Central Java, on Saturday.

“The cliff was hit suddenly by a landslide Saturday night after heavy rain,” Rembang a sub-district official, said on Sunday, as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.

The victims, identified as Yatirun, 42, and Haryoto, 38, had been on the hill to clean a fresh water container.

“When the two cleaned the container, the landslide from the hill buried the container,” Supandi said
