South Africa to hand over R 1 Million to Indonesian Government following the recent Tsunami and May 2006 Earthquake

Pretoria - 19 July 2006: Upon her return from Bolivia, Deputy Minister Sue van der Merwe will hand over South Africa's contribution of R1 million to the Indonesian government in a ceremony at the Union Buildings in support of Indonesia' relief efforts following the recent Tsunami that claimed the lives of more than 500 Indonesians. This gesture will also be in support of the devastation left by the earthquake earlier in May this year which claimed the lives of more than 6000 people. Media are invited as follows:
