Ministry of Education donates over $300 thousand to Tsunami Relief Fund

The Ministry of Education donated a total of 300 thousand eighty-one dollars and 68 cents to two relief funds for the survivors of the tsunami disaster. The Minister of Education, Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Wijaya Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Aziz handed over a sum of more than 100 thousand and 80 dollars to the Minister of Culture Youth and Sports, Pehin Orang Kaya Digadong Seri Lela Dato Seri Paduka Doctor Haji Awang Hussain who is the co-advisor of the National Relief Fund for the tsunami survivors.

The Minister then presented a donation of 200 thousand dollars to the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Foundation's Initiative Relief Fund for tsunami victims in Ache to the Chairman of the Foundation's Board of Directors, Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin. The money were contributions from all staff members of the ministry, teachers and students from government and non-goverment schools as well as colleges and Institutions of Higher Learnings nationwide to the Ministry of Education's relief fund set up early last month.
