Medan, Indonesia-Relief -- At last,
''the real'' reconstruction of Indonesian tsunami zones will be started.
Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will launch it by handing
over hundred of fishing boats and 9,000 hectares of new agricultural land
to tsunami survivors in Aceh. The ceremony will be held after his trips
to China.
''I have to say sorry to people in
Bireun, as the handing over of the fishermen boats has been cancelled.
But, it is for good reason. Mr SBY will hand over the boats by himself,
after completing his tour to China'' said Minister of Social Affair Bachtiar
Chamsyah in Medan on Monday. SBY, short for president name Susilo Bambang
Yudhoyono, scheduled to leave for China on July 13.
Aside from handing over the boats, as reported by Sinar Indonesia Baru daily, with value of Rp 35 billion ($3.6 million), SBY will also provide certificates of 9,000 hectares of new agricultural land for tsunami survivors who lost their land and jobs. The land as well as the certificates or land title, Chamsyah said, will be provided for free.
The ceremony will be held in Krueng Peudada, the central fishermen community in Bireun, in the eastern coast of Aceh. © che
