Description
1 . On Tuesday (30/04), Indonesian volcanic center (PVMBG) reported Mt. Ruang erupt and actively spewing volcanic ash.
2 . Considering the scale and intensitiy of the eruption, PVMBG changed Mt. Ruang Status from level 3 to level 4 on Tuesday (30/04)
3 . Responding to the situation, PVMBG updated Mt. Ruang "volcanic disaster prone area" from 5 KM around the crater to 7 KM around the crater.
4 . As the safe area is now expanded, there are several area located in Tagulandang island (located next to Ruang island) considered as not safe. PVMBG recommended all communities who are live within the radius of 7 KM to evacaute to safer location.
5 . Due to volcanic activities, 6,267 people evacuated from Tagulandang Subdistrict (Island) to Siau Island, Manado city, North Minahasa or Bitung.
6 . Communities who are live in Ruang island, will be permanently rellocated to South Bolaang Mongondow district. The government will support the process and provide necessary support to the community
7 . As per reporting period, eruption is continuing and Mt. Ruang remain at level 4 (Red)
8 . More than 3,200 houses and more than 50 units of community facilities (school, health facility, markets, bridge and etc) damaged by the Mt Ruang volcaninc activities.
