Update On Aceh Recovery Program

Retrieval and Missing Persons

- Total number of bodies found and buried from April 17-30, 2005 was 213

West Coast : 144
Banda Aceh : 69

- Total number of bodies found and buried to date has reached 128,790 (report from Indonesian Red Cross)

- Total number of missing people is currently estimated at 37,063 (it is believed that some of those previously thought to be missing are confirmed dead, are among IDPs, or have left NAD)

Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs)

- To date the total number of IDPs is still reported to be 595,094 in 21 regencies and cities

- To date a total of 1,546 temporary shelters have been built

- According to the Aceh Provincial Satkorlak PBP report, the total number of IDPs as of April 13, 2005 in Aceh has reached 81,816 (estimate)
