Indonesia: Thousands of homes still inundated in Bandung

Around 7,000 homes in three districts in Bandung regency, West Java, are still inundated by a flood caused by the Citarum River overflowing.

Floodwater still covers areas in Baleendah, Dayeuhkolot, Bojongsoang, Solokanjeruk and Rancaekek Antara state news agency reported

"The flood is slowly receding in Bandung, but it is still raining, which is prolonging the inundation in Baleendah and Dayeuhkolot," Mudjiadi, head of the river management unit, said Tuesday in Bandung.

Logistics and medical aid are being distributed to affected families.

Some residents are returning to their house after having taken refuge for the past four days to clean their mud-covered houses.

The flood blocked a number of highways leading to Bandung, causing traffic jams during rush hours.
