Indonesia - Severe weather (BNPB, BMKG) (ECHO Daily Flash of 6 June 2025)

  • On 4 June, strong winds and heavy rainfall hit the East Java province causing wind-related incidents and landslides that resulted in casualties and damage.
  • According to the National Agency for Disaster Countermeasure (BNPB), as of 5 June, one person died and some structures were damaged in the Sukowono district of the Jember regency in eastern East Java province, mainly due to strong winds. In the Trenggalek Regency, in the same province, some landslides triggered by heavy rainfall, damaged at least two bridges bridge and blocked several roads.
  • Light rain is forecast for East Java province over the next 48 hours.
