Indonesia - Severe weather (BNPB, ADINet, BMKG) (ECHO Daily Flash of 11 July 2025)

  • Heavy rain continues to affect parts of Indonesia, particularly the island of Java, causing landslides and floods, which have resulted in casualties and significant damage.
  • The National Agency for Disaster Mitigation (BNPB) reported that a landslide occurred in Sukabumi Regency, West Java Province, on 9 July, resulting in one fatality and two injured people.
  • Additionally, according to the ASEAN Disaster Information Network (ADINet), approximately 3,500 people have been displaced, and over 13,500 affected by floods in Bekasi Regency, West Java Province. Furthermore, more than 600 people have been displaced, and nearly 20,000 affected in Tangerang City, Banten Province.
  • For the next 48 hours, cloudy skies and drier conditions are expected across the impacted provinces.
